Dr. Ellis Traywick grew up in Richmond, Virginia riding and developed a love for eventing through her involvement in Pony Club.
She attended Virginia Tech for undergraduate and veterinary school. After graduation in 2014 she completed an internship in equine medicine, surgery, lameness, and imaging at Blue Ridge Equine Clinic in Charlottesville, Virginia. Wanting to move to a place with a warm winter, she moved to Florida following her internship. From 2016-2019 she practiced in Ocala, refining her skills in lameness evaluations, imaging, and treating performance-related problems as well as managing the wide array of emergencies the large and diverse population of horses there provides. Dr. Traywick joined the Equine Performance Veterinary Practice team in May 2019 and is very excited to be setting down permanent roots in Florida with her husband Gene and getting to know the incredible clients and patients of EPVP!
Dr. Traywick enjoys all aspect of equine medicine but her main veterinary interests are lameness, ultrasonography and internal medicine. In her spare time she enjoys taking lessons in eventing, running, kayaking and snorkeling.
